US Pairs Playdowns (Finals) WOMEN - Newport
The women’s pairs playdowns took place June 21-22 and 28-29 at Newport
Harbor LBC.
The tournament is divided into two sections; the stars and the stripes because
the SW Division,
being the largest division, gets to send two representatives to the US Championships.
The “playdowns” is the tournament that decides who will represent
the SW Division.
The Stripes
was won by PATRICIA CRONSHAW OF SANTA BARBARA
and Carrie Fossati of Laguna Beach.
PATRICIA will be
going for the FOURTH time, Carrie for the second time.
The Stars was won by Christine Ludwig and Melanie Vizenor of San Diego LBC.
These two teams will now represent the SW Division in October at the US Championships
in Sun City, Arizona.

The Laguna Beach LBC has been and will be hosting this years Mens’ Playdowns.
The results, so far, are:

Both of the following teams have one loss and will play one game next Saturday
for the right to represent the division.
The game will be at 9AM at the Laguna Beach LBC

CONGRATULATIONS PATRICIA CRONSHAW AND EILEEN MORTON SOUTH
CENTRAL OPEN TOURNAMENT SBLBC members who bowled in the South Central Open tournaments held February 9 - 14, 2008, in Sun City, Arizona were STAN BLOOM, PATRICIA and JAMES CRONSHAW, CHRIS and HILDEGARD KENNEDY, JIM and EILEEN MORTON and SUSAN HOWEY (MPLBC). JAMES CRONSHAW was on the winning team (championship flight) of men’s triples with partners Hugh Branston, (Canada) and Len Rice, (Sun City AZ). JIM MORTON and CHRIS KENNEDY were runners-up, fifth flight men’s triples with partner Floyd Murphy (San Diego). PATRICIA CRONSHAW won the second flight women’s pairs with partner Carrie Fossati of (Laguna Beach). EILEEN MORTON and SUSAN HOWEY (MPLBC) with partners Jan Hargraves (Newport) and Kim Heiser (Laguna Beach), won the second flight women’s rinks. PATRICIA CRONSHAW was runner-up second flight women’s rinks with Maryann Beath, (Canada & Sun City AZ), Mary Terrill, (Sun City AZ) and Carrie Fossati (Laguna Beach).
