US OPEN PLAYDOWNS - WOMEN'S PAIRS
The women’s pairs playdowns took place June 21-22 and 28-29 at Newport
Harbor LBC.
The tournament is divided into two sections; the stars and the stripes because
the SW Division,
being the largest division, gets to send two representatives to the US Championships.
The “playdowns” is the tournament that decides who will represent
the SW Division at
the United States Championships in Arizona in October.
The SWWD sends two pairs
teams and two singles players: one Stars, the other Stripes.
The Stripes was won by PATRICIA
CRONSHAW of SANTA BARBARA and Carrie Fossati of Laguna Beach.
PATRICIA will be going for the FOURTH time, Carrie for the second time.
The Stars was won by Christine Ludwig and Melanie Vizenor of San Diego LBC.
These two teams will now represent the SW Division in October at the US Championships
in Sun City, Arizona.

The Laguna Beach LBC has
been and will be hosting this years Mens’ Playdowns. The results, so
far, are:
Stripes - 1st- Tony Baer and Bill Brault
2nd Mert Isaacman and Loren
Dion of MacKenzie Park LBC
Stars
Both of the following teams have one loss and will play one game next Saturday
for the right to represent the division.
The game will be at 9AM at the Laguna Beach LBC
