A Legacy in Every Roll
In spring 2026, SBLBC members voted to replace the deteriorating surface of our lower green. Installed in 2003 with a projected 20-year lifespan, the carpet had grown worn, with tree roots creating an increasingly uneven playing surface.
As use of the green increased in recent years, the need became clear. The SBLBC board proposed using the club endowment for its intended purpose — replacing the worn surface — and members responded with overwhelming support.
While the endowment covers most of the projected cost, SBLBC still needs to close the gap for construction contingencies and to replace the lower green's aging seating and shade structures.
Introducing "A Legacy in Every Roll" — SBLBC's fundraising effort to bring this project home. Thank you for your support, and for taking the time to learn more!

Establish a Lasting Legacy at SBLBC
In addition to one-time donations, SBLBC has several naming & dedication opportunities available. Please fill out the interest form below and someone from our Fundraising Committee will reach out with more information and next steps.
Green-Side Dedication - Super Shot Gift of $5,000-$10,000
Commemorate the next chapeter in our club’s 90 year history! Your name will be included in an engraved community plaque prominently posted at the new green.
Individual Rink - On the Jack Gift of $3,000
Dedication of one of the playing rinks, a wonderful way to establish a memory at the club. You’ll get to add a custom message on an engraved plaque at the head of the rink.
Green-Side Bench or Shade - Toucher Gift of $1,000
A named bench or shade along the the green, an engraved plate on the bench or shade structure w/ your dedicated message
Like generations of members before us, today's SBLBC members are stewards of this community space. Investing in a new surface now ensures the club can serve members and neighbors for another 20+ years — and lets us replace the current carpet before it fails, avoiding extended downtime in one of the club's most-used areas.
Frequently Asked Questions
Growth
With membership growing and demand for club and community events on the rise, a second fully functional green lets us meet that need without over-relying on our natural grass green, which can only handle so many hours of play. Once installed, we'll be able to offer more bowling hours, host larger tournaments, and run more revenue-generating private events — helping SBLBC fully serve the surrounding community.
Performance
SBLBC is partnering with Berry Bowling Systems, Australian experts in bowling green installation, to deliver a top-rated playing surface for bowlers of all levels. Several Southwest Division clubs have already made this upgrade, and members report a more consistent draw and bias. In addition to our well maintained natural grass, this new green will make SBLBC a desired destination for bowlers everywhere.
